16.10. – 18.10.2018 – IN(3D)USTRY  in Barcelona

Our network supports the third edition of the largest trade fair for additive manufacturing in the Mediterranean region as a partner. Our members receive special conditions for this. If you are interested, please contact Stefanie Brickwede.

IN(3D)USTRY in Barcelona Explore the infinite possibilities of the Additive & Advanced Manufacturing

Robotics, moulds and dies, plastics and new materials will be on display together with 3D printing at the third IN(3D)USTRY fair, titled From Needs to Solutions. The purpose of the event is to promote the use of this technology throughout the industry and, for this reason, this year’s event incorporates new sectors as potential future users of additive manufacturing. Organized by Fira de Barcelona, IN(3D)USTRY will be held from 16 to 18 October in Hall 8 at the Montjuïc venue. The third IN(3D)USTRY fair, titled From Needs to Solutions, extends its influence over the industrial ecosystem by increasing the number of sectors attending. In this regard, the event will feature five thematic areas (advanced manufacturing, moulds and dies, new materials, plastics and 3D printing), based upon which the content of the event will be developed. Thus, within a single space, the event will include several previously absent industries which could potentially employ 3D printing. The advanced manufacturing area will incorporate the field of robotics applied to the industrial sector. The moulds and dies area will explore how 3D printing can contribute to reducing costs in this sub-sector. And the new materials area will address the huge possibilities opening up with the use of innovative plastic and metallic components. The event will be structured around the IN(3D)USTRY Arena, a large area for innovation containing a stage where several representatives of companies which are already applying 3D printing to their production processes will explain their experiences to the visitors. These will be companies in sectors such as aeronautics, health, industry, cars and retail. There will also be an exhibition area displaying numerous examples of parts manufactured by means of this innovative technology, as well as the presence of manufacturers showcasing their latest innovations in the field of cutting-edge printers. Miquel Serrano, the event’s director, declares that “the incorporation of new sectors into this year’s fair will enable us to expand the spectrum of additive manufacturing and view the enormous possibilities offered by this technology in many industrial sectors. By grouping together all the production techniques which complement additive manufacturing we will display the entire production and value chain.” According to Serrano, “three years after its launch, IN(3D)USTRY is now the leading fair in Spain and this year, its third, it will also enable us to establish ourselves as the primary benchmark in Southern Europe.” Barcelona Industry Week IN(3D)USTRY, From Needs to Solutions, forms part of Barcelona Industry Week, which also encompasses the IoT Solutions World Congress, the world’s leading event in the Internet of Things industry, and Healthio, specializing in health and sanitary care technologies. The three events, which share synergies and provide a platform for trade and knowledge in several industrial sectors, will be held from 16 to 18 October at Fira de Barcelona. Dear Members,

Our second business year ends and we can look back on a successful year thanks to joint work. 75 companies are currently working in our network on the establishment and series production readiness of additive manufacturing in industrial production!
Five new member companies will join this group at the beginning of the new business year:

The Israeli startup LEO Lane offers its own ecosystem for the management, control and secure use of your own print data.

Trenitalia, Italy’s largest railway company, was created in 2000 by separating the freight and passenger transport business from the parent company Ferrovie dello Stato Italiane (FS).

O.R. Lasertechnologie GmbH from Dieburg, Germany, has been dealing with innovative concepts in laser technology for more than 20 years and supplies its own industrial laser systems all over the world.

Faiveley Transport is a French provider of rail systems and services with headquarters near Paris and locations in 26 countries. The company belongs to the American Wabtec Corporation, which supplies locomotives and rail vehicle components and is expected to merge with GE Transportation in 2019.

The team of Industrial Partners GmbH from Frankfurt am Main, Beerfelden im Odenwald and Tianjin, P.R. China develops and designs individual components, subsystems and products for various industrial sectors. It supports its customers from the idea to the series part, even with the correct use of additive production.

-Direct discussion in an interactive market stand concept with the working group leaders

What’s the news?
-Be informed about current developments even before Formnext, e.g. by DesktopMetal Printing to reduce postprocessing effort

-Get to know completely new applications, e.g. wheelset bearing caps printed with 3DMP

-A look beyond the end of one’s nose: How far is the pressure of human spare parts? From heart valves to tissue printing – a realistic insight

-Everyone is talking about digitisation and it is being implemented in Europe’s largest mobility and logistics group by her: Prof. Dr. Sabina Jeschke, Director of Technology and Digitization at Deutsche Bahn, reports on the digitization of Deutsche Bahn and what role 3D printing plays in it

-Berlin brings industry back: State Secretary for Economic Affairs of Berlin, Christian Rickerts, former head of Wikipedia, reveals his vision of 3D printing in the capital

-And you’ll be there when Mobility goes Additive celebrates its entry into the 3D printing hub – with jazz quartet and DJ – until early in the morning!
